MidSouth FC coaches Candice Spinolas and Mike Kauker recently completed and passed their NSCAA National Diploma. The NSCAA National Diploma is the equivalent to the USSF C license and allows coaches to coach division 1 club soccer in Tennessee. It is a 10 day course provided by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The course took place in early June and was taken at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.

Congratulations to all the MidSouth FC players who attended the Region III ODP Trials these past few weeks. The Olympic Development Program is an identification process to select the top players for the state teams, the region teams, and the national teams. The boys camp is at the University of Alabama and the girls camp is at the University of Montevallo and the trials take place in July. Congratulations to all these players.

MidSouth FC player Bergin Kranz was selected to the U13 Region III ODP Pool. Bergin was one of the 60 players selected for the region pool. The region pool was selected from the best players all over the southeast region and there was about 450 players trying out for the region pool that had already been selected to their state teams. Our 98 Midsouth Girls with Coach Mike Kauker from the State Tournament this past weekend in Murfreesboro, TN. We had a great weekend and with only 13 players played two great games against the #3 seed FC Aliance and the #2 seed Lobos. [more]

With much sadness, Midsouth F.C. extends our sincerest condolences to the Emmich family. Katie, wife of Brian and mother of former players Ben (’98 Boys) and current player William (’02 Boys) and Olivia and Leah, passed away this week. Funeral services are scheduled for this Thursday, May 22, at 2:00P at First Baptist Church in Corinth, MS. A fund for the children has been established at Bancorp South in her memory. Elisabeth Sullivan joins the list of former MidSouth FC players to make it to the professional level. Elisabeth is currently playing for the Portland Thorns in National Women’s Soccer League.
